I strive to combine my love of nature and photography into most sessions. There is something about the stillness and subtle quietness of nature that grounds us and allows us to notice every detail about the moment.  Location is definitely one of the aspects we always talk about in photography, but we can not forget that light is almost more important!  How light envelopes your subject and brings out their best features, is fascinating!

When Jessie and I began to plan out her maternity session (their first baby), we quickly realized we shared the same vision!  From the boho white maternity dress she chose, to the location – deep in the woods but just a 10 minute easy hike from her backyard, with just enough afternoon summer light coming through to showcase her and Matt – plus, it was so on brand! I absolutely loved the easiness of planning for this session. As a hairdresser, you can imagine how on-point her hair, nails, makeup and lashes were for the much anticipated day – because let’s face it, it’s a big day and it’s a big deal. Maternity photos are something you’ve been likely planning for a while!

When I photograph couples who literally swoon over each other, it is a reminder of my why – of the exact reason why I do what I do! I live to see people in love, I want to create photographs that capture the way he looks at you, the spontaneous reactions, the embrace – all the unspoken spark that happens when you are so close to each other. This is a time for celebration in every sense and a reminder that your relationship is the key to success.
